Organization: The Washington Diplomat Foundation: a secular, nonpolitical charitable organization based in Washington DC. Established in 2012 as a grassroots organization dedicated to addressing emerging global challenges.
Location: Remote
Employment Type: part-time Internship - Communication and Public Information
Focal areas are social media, communications, digital planning and outreach, web development, and business planning
Start Date: ASAP The position: This role focuses on support, content production, communications, and outreach related to the launch of WDF key programs. Specifically, this internship will help the incumbent:
a) Gain unique knowledge in program development, grants writing, and documenting impact. b) Obtain project experience in internal and external communications, including digital communication products, social media, events support, and more to ensure outreach and project success.c) Grants researchd) Partnership’s development
Duties and responsibilities
• Act as a key member in the day-to-day programs’ activities.
• Contribute to the development of presentations and briefings.
• Participate in regular zoom meetings (and create follow-on to-do lists).
• Assist with the website updates and Social Media outreach.
• Develop communication materials such as email broadcasts, PowerPoint presentations, short videos, digital brochures.
• Organize and attend meetings, keep minutes as requested.
Minimum qualifications required
• Recent graduate or current student in the field of Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Business Administration, Humanities, and related fields
• An affinity to working with marginalized communities
• Drafting and presentation skills (in English)
• Interest in current affairs and digital communications
• Good command of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills (MS Access is a plus)
• Knowledge of digital platforms, including Social Media tools
